How to Book a Sonoma Wine Tour in Style

When you think of Sonoma County California, you think of wine country. We were so excited to be visiting one of our favorite wine regions and staying at the Vintner's Resort. In planning our wine tour, one thing was for sure. We did not want to drive to the 3 vineyards we were going to visit.

We decided to hire Pure Luxury Transportation to drive us around on our wine tour day. This way we could enjoy each of the wineries without having to worry about driving.

This was the best decision we could have made. Doug, our driver, was super knowledgeable about the area and gave us a tour of the area as well as told us about a lot of the history of the region. He also brought us water while we were wine tasting to make sure we stayed hydrated.

We visited 3 wineries- Enriquez Winery, Iron Horse Vineyards, and Kendall Jackson Winery. We chose these wineries because we wanted to visit a small vineyard, a medium vineyard and a large one. The medium vineyard, Iron Horse Vineyard just happen to specialize in sparkling wine, my favorite.

Each of the wineries had something unique about them. Enriquez Winery, had a great ambiance with a nice brunch. The people were so friendly and they had live music, which was really nice. We got to meet the owners and hear about their process of making the wine. It was interesting because it turned out they sold their wine in Nantucket MA, near Boston.

The second winery we visited was Iron Horse Vineyards. We chose this winery because they specialize in sparkling wine. Because of covid, it was set up in the parking lot but had an amazing view of the vineyards across the valley. The sparkling wine was amazing.

Our final winery of the day was the famous Kendall Jackson. I must say being a large winery, we didn't have high expectations. However, we were pleasantly surprised. When we arrived, we were given a glass of rosé, which tasted good on a hot day. We were then escorted around back where there was a restaurant under a canopy with a view of the beautiful gardens. We then proceeded to have a 4 course meal with wine pairings. This was not like any Kendall Jackson we had ever had. Their estate wines were amazing. They even gave us samples of other wines not part of the tasting. The meal was as good as the wine. Compliments to the chef. We then took a lovely stroll in the garden afterwards.

It was a lovely day and Pure Luxury Transportation made it the perfect day by doing the driving. I highly recommend these three vineyards. But whatever vineyards you visit, make sure to hire Pure Luxury Transportation to drive you around so you are safe on your Sonoma Wine Tour.
